More Women Face Nightmare After HSE South Mammogram Scandal -Buttimer
Fine Gael’s Cork South Central Senator Jerry Buttimer has today (Wednesday) described as appalling and beyond comprehension media reports which reveal that 28 female patients have been recalled for mammograms in HSE South.
“It’s time we had accountability in the health service and that has to start at the top with the Minister. There is a need for an immediate investigation by the HSE as to how this situation occurred in the first place. It is essential that we find out all the relevant information. When was it discovered? How was it allowed to happen? When were these women informed? These questions need immediate answers.
“We are talking about human lives here. The Minister for Health must take responsibility!”
