Cork South Central Fine Gael Senator Jerry Buttimer has today welcomed the appointment of the new Fine Gael front bench.

Speaking today Senator Buttimer said “I wish to welcome the appointment of the new frontbench made today by Fine Gael party leader Enda Kenny. I believe it represents a very strong and credible team as we look forward to a general election within 96 weeks. There is a good gender, geographic and skills spread among the new team.”

“I particularly want to congratulate my constituency colleagues Simon Coveney, Deirdre Clune, along with  Cork East’s David Stanton and believe their appointments will benefit the greater Cork region when Fine Gael lead the next government.”

“There’s a lot of work to be done in the years ahead to ensure that this country is put back to work and put on a sound financial footing. I will continue to work hard to serve the people of Cork South Central as an Oireachtas member and to be their voice in our national parliament. I intend to play my part fully to ensure that happens through the winning of a third FG seat in Cork South Central.”

“It is vital that we return a third Fine Gael seat in Cork South Central to ensure a strong Cork presence in the next cabinet.”
