Fine Gael Cork South Central Senator, Jerry Buttimer, has urged people to come and visit Cork for the Cork Heritage Open Day which is being held this week on Saturday 28th August.

“This is a great opportunity to visit 35 heritage sites around Cork for free. I would encourage people to bring their families along to see what Cork has to offer. The buildings which can be visited range from military to historic and cultural. Cork has something to offer everyone and as a proud Corkonian I am proud that the Cork Heritage Day will allow people to experience all that Cork has to offer.

“There are activities for all ages so I am urging people to visit Cork and experience the reasons why it was recently voted one of the Lonely Planet’s top ten places to visit.”
