Fine Gael Senator Jerry Buttimer has this afternoon Thursday 10th February extended his sympathies to the families of the victims of this morning’s plane crash at Cork International Airport.

“Today a terrible tragedy occurred in our City. Like many I am deeply shocked at the tragic accident which led to loss of life. I would like to offer my deepest sympathies to the families of those who died and to those affected by this tragic accident. My prayers are with the families of those who have lost their lives today, and to the passengers who have been injured.”

” I would like to commend all the Airport staff, Gardai, Fire Brigade, Hospital and Emergency Personnel for their immense dedication in difficult circumstances.

“As a mark of sympathy to the people who died, all election canvassing for today Thursday is suspended.”
