Cork South Central TD Jerry Buttimer has said that the creation of 250 jobs is a vote of confidence in Cork.

Speaking after the announcement Deputy Buttimer said “Today’s announcement of 250 jobs over 3 years is a significant vote of confidence in Cork.  The availability of employees with the required skill-sets and language abilities has facilitated the expansion of VMware in Cork.

“VMware is a global leader delivering virtualization and cloud infrastructure solutions.  Its commitment to Cork recognises that the area is fast becoming a centre for ICT excellence.  The ICT sector in Cork is an important part of our local economy, there are 8,000 technology employees working in IDA Ireland client firms in the county.

“On Saturday 17 September at the Clarion Hotel, Cork VMware will host an International Careers Fair.  This is further recognition of the skills and dedication of its Cork workforce.  The Careers Fail will provide an opportunity for interaction between the company and future employees.”
