To ask the Minister for Education and Skills the number of students in schools and centres for education at both primary and post-primary level; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The most recently available statistics relate to the 2012/2013 academic year. These show that there were 526,422 pupils in DES aided primary level schools and 362,847 pupils in DES aided post-primary schools.
