  • 150 new jobs at the Mater Private, City Gate, Mahon, Cork.

Taoiseach at Mater Private jobs announcementThis investment by Mater Private, creating 150 new jobs, continues the trend of recent jobs announcements for the Cork region. It again recognises the vibrancy of the region and demonstrates that Cork is a place where highly skilled people and businesses want to base themselves. I congratulate all involved in this expansion of Mater Private in Cork and I look forward to the benefits to our city of another 150 new jobs.

The jobs announced today will include doctors, nurses and postgraduate research roles. I hope that this will give an opportunity for career development to those working in the relevant fields, that it might provide an opportunity for some people who left Ireland to seek work to return home and continue their careers.

As well as the extra jobs created by Mater Private this announcement will also impact on health services. Having extra frontline staff will increase the health services offered to the people of Cork.  The development of health services is of crucial importance and these new roles will provide further opportunities to access much needed healthcare.
