Dunnes Stores must resolve dispute over €4.1 million credit union development

I call on Dunnes Stores to quickly resolve its dispute with Bishopstown Credit Union which has led to the delay of a new €4.1 million development of new headquarters on Curaheen Road.

The dispute has prevented the credit union from putting the construction project out to tender which has delayed the development by up to nine months.

“The current impasse must end as the new development would be a welcomed addition to the area on the vacant site of the old Viscount Bar which now lays idle.

“Bishopstown credit union has a long history within the community and provides Information session and third level scholarships to local members. It is important that we continue to support the work of our local credit unions so that they can continue to provide vital services in our communities.”
