Announcing the granting of Ability Funding today, Minister for State for Disabilities Finian McGrath confirmed that €614,044 has been awarded to COPE Foundation in Cork. Ability Funding is a recent programme by Government that is co financed by the Department of Employment and Social Protection and the European Social Fund.
Speaking after the announcement Senator Jerry Buttimer said. “ I am very happy to receive this news from Minister McGrath this morning, that awarding of €614,044 in Ability Funding will enable COPE to progress with some very worth while projects. The aim of the Ability Programme is to support young people with disabilities (15-29 years of age) to improve their employability through a range of person-centred supports”.
“The fact that COPE Foundation has received a grant on the higher end of the scale is testament to their dedication and proven track record of improving the lives of people with disabilities in Cork over many, many years”
