Tourism

Home / National Issues / Tourism

I strongly believe that Cork must be marketed as a single destination and as ‘the gateway to all Munster’ when it comes to attracting tourists.  The new national tourism policy – People Place and Policy – Growing Tourism to 2025, must be the basis for this.

2015 was a bumper year for Irish tourism, generating a significant boost for our economy.  However, if this growth is going to continue and benefit Cork we need to develop a marketing strategy to attract inward tourism to our city and county.  This needs to be prioritized and I have asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport to become directly involved in this process.

We must use this opportunity to market Cork as a single region.
