Parliamentary Question for the Minister for Education and Skills (Ruairi Quinn TD)

For WRITTEN ANSWER 25/03/2014

To ask the Minister for Education and Skills the pupil-teacher ratio in primary and post-primary schools; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Reply

The Pupil Teacher Ratio is compiled by dividing the total number of pupils by the total number of allocated teaching posts. For 2012/2013 the PTR at primary level was 16.4 and at second level was 14.3.
